For the past twelve years the Great St Basils charity walk has brought the
Register now for the 2010 Walk which will take place in the Cotswolds, starting and finishing in Chipping Campden, on Saturday 5th June 2010. There are two walks to choose from, a 28 miles route and a shorter 14 mile one.
Walk regulars DLA Piper have put in six teams so far and are encouraging other companies to represent themselves at this legendary fundraising event.
Chris Rawstron, partner at DLA Piper, said “the St Basils Walk has become a permanent fixture in the DLA Piper calendar and one that we very much look forward to each year. As well as raising much needed funding for an extremely deserving cause it also gives our teams an opportunity to get together in a non working environment which every one benefits from and enjoys. It also keeps up our fitness levels!”
Last year over 150 teams took part including teams from Barclays, Lloyds, Wragges, Cadbury, John Lewis, Deloitte, Cobbetts, PWC raising a combined total of £70,000.
Nick Venning from PWC and originator of this event said, "Every year our Challenge Walk attracts more and more people from the business community. We are immensely grateful to all our walkers without whose perennial support the work and reputation of St Basils would not be what it is today. This is the 11th event and we are expecting over 800 people to take part. Networking takes many forms; this is networking on the hoof at its very best!"
