Faith Leaders Group
The Faith Leaders Group comprises leaders from the principal faiths of Birmingham: Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh.
The aim of the organisation is to meet regularly to discuss issues of common concern on religious topics and social issues; provide good community relations; raise funds for charities; give advice to public bodies and act as a consultative forum on local issues for local government.
Faiths for the City is a project initiated by the University of Birmingham Multi Faith Chaplaincy and the Birmingham Faith Leaders Group. It aims to bring together representatives of the different faith communities, departments from the University of Birmingham and leaders from the city of Birmingham for a dialogue focused on specific issues related to the welfare of the city and rooted in a discussion of scriptural texts.
The aims of the Faiths for the City project are:
- Develop friendships
- Tackle common issues
- Faith communities in dialogue
- Work for the future of our city
