Centro

Centro is the organisation responsible for promoting the use and future development of the various forms of public transport across the whole of the West Midlands county, with the aim of achieving an integrated modern, high quality system, helping to boost the economy and serving our ever expanding local cities and towns.

We are a highly customer-focused organisation, one that is fully committed to achieving high standards in the services we provide and giving value for money in return for the finance we receive.  Centro invests funds into a number of activities designed to improve and enhance the regional transport structure, providing safe and secure travel, working towards a fully integrated public transport system and planning for the future.

In a deregulated environment, there is a need for public transport customers to have someone they can turn to for comprehensive travel information and assistance when things go wrong.

  • Centro provides advice through its Travel Information Centres to over 1 million customers a year
  • The Traveline telephone information service deals with over 1 million calls a year
  • Centro publishes a comprehensive range of printed transport information including bus maps, timetables and leaflets
  • The Centro Customer Relations Office deals with over 6500 customer suggestions and complaints about public transport each year

With overwhelming support from the public for continuing the development and improvement of the West Midlands, Centro is working closely with partners in the public transport field in order to provide the infrastructure and services needed to advance the economic prosperity and standard of living of the region.

Together, we have launched the Network West Midlands brand that connects public transport in the metropolitan area (Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton). The Network West Midlands brand clearly identifies the complete network of bus, train and Metro services across the West Midlands. The rollout of the brand has been accompanied by improved passenger transport information aimed at making travel easier.

The Network West Midlands website includes information on bus, train and metro travel, corporate news, tickets, maps, timetables and special offers.
