Priority neighbourhoods - This page is in the process of being updated
Working with key partners, Be Birmingham has identified 25 priority neighbourhoods and six neighbourhood clusters as the focus of the neighbourhoods programme.
This involved a mapping exercise to highlight Super Output Areas falling within the worst 5% nationally for multiple deprivation. These were then grouped together to form neighbourhoods of a population up to 15,000. The formation of clearly defined neighbourhoods is an enabling catalyst for the delivery of successful neighbourhood management.
Be Birmingham neighbourhood managers have been successfully recruited to 25 of the 31 priority neighbourhoods and clusters and the remaining six will benefit from innovative neighbourhood management delivered by partner organisations selected through Be Birmingham’s commissioning framework. Neighbourhood managers will be highly influential in securing commitment from all service providers and empowering residents to get engaged.
