Birmingham Environmental Partnership
Birmingham Environmental Partnership
The Birmingham Environmental Partnership is part of Be Birmingham, the city’s Local Strategic Partnership.
It has two main functions; the first is to bring together the public, private and voluntary sectors, to provide leadership and ensure joined-up working on environmental and sustainability issues.
These issues include the physical environment, climate change, waste, energy management, local biodiversity, and sustainable procurement.
The second function is as the panel responsible for commissioning programmes funded from the Government’s Working Neighbourhoods Fund and Area Based Grants.
The partnership’s four main areas of activity are:
- making Birmingham a cleaner city
- reducing waste and increasing reuse and recycling
- adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change
- working to reduce CO2 emissions
