Cultural Partnership

People enjoying a mealBirmingham Cultural Partnership

The Birmingham Cultural Partnership (BCP) brings together the interests of the cultural sector in Birmingham and is made up of representatives from the museums, galleries, heritage, libraries, arts, events and sports sectors as well as the relevant regional bodies including Advantage West Midlands, Learning and Skills Council, the independent arts sector and higher education.

What does the Partnership do?

The focus of our work is provided by the cultural strategy ‘Culture at the Heart’ which sets out shared priorities for the development of services and initiatives within the cultural sector.

We are working to:

  • Raise the external perception of Birmingham as a cultural destination
  • Raise cultural participation (sport, arts, libraries, museums and galleries)
  • Increase the use of Birmingham’s world-class cultural facilities by local residents
  • Increase engagement with the most disadvantaged communities in the city
  • Fulfil the desire of residents for cultural activities at a local level
